Founder Charlie Winfield formed The Bulldog Initiative with the mission of helping Mississippi State University student-athletes take advantage of their Name, Image and Likeness rights, which are now recognized by Mississippi law and NCAA policies.
The Initiative took its first step toward fulfilling that mission by announcing agreements with 11 MSU student-athletes: Jett Johnson, Will Rogers, Nathaniel “Bookie” Watson and Tyrus Wheat from football; Tolu Smith from men’s basketball; Anastasia Hayes and JerKaila Jordan from women’s basketball; Becca Walk from volleyball; Luke Hancock and Hunter Hines from baseball; and Maddy Anderson from soccer.
“The more we work with MSU’s student-athletes, the more we are proud to see them in the Maroon and White,” Winfield said. “They have been engaging, supportive and proud to share their love for MSU, Starkville and surrounding communities. This is a special place, and we are proud to associate with MSU student-athletes who share our love for it.”
Winfield said more announcements would follow at a later date.
“It is our goal to support all of MSU’s sports teams as expansively as possible, and we anticipate announcing agreements with other athletes, both with the teams currently represented and from additional sports in the coming weeks,” Winfield said.
